Role: Room Lead - Maternity Cover
Location: Little Wings Nursery, Odiham
Contract type: Temporary
Hours: 37 Hour week (All year round).

About the Role

The main purpose of the role will be to support the Manager and the setting in providing a high quality childcare provision.
You will be required to implement the EYFS
The scope of the position is to incorporate working with parents and other outside agencies to ensure children are able to reach their potential and contribute to the review of the nursery development plans and ensure that the nursery continues to make progress and drive quality.

In your new role you will:

• Ensure day to day running of the room is effective.
• Monitor and review children who may be subject to a plan, and to contact outside agencies to support this.
• Help staff to identify any additional support or needs a child/children
• Support the implementation of policy, procedure and practice relating to safeguarding across the nursery
• Be responsible for direct delivery in an area of the nursery
• Line manage identified staff
• Hold excellent communication and organisation skills
• Communicate effectively and share information with parents/carers and other agencies to ensure the best outcomes for the child
• Support the manager to ensure effective systems are in place to support transitions
• Supervise, monitor and instruct staff working in a particular area
• Ensure the safeguarding of children and staff within the setting in line with internal and LSCB guidelines
• Maintain records that fulfil Ofsted requirements as laid out in the EYFS and all other administrative duties associated with the childcare provision
• Lead on planning of EYFS in a particular area
• Work with parents and outside agencies to ensure children are able to reach their potential
