Sector Support Services

Children's Links Sector Support has been successfully improving children’s life experiences since being established in 1998.

Sector Support facilitates the work of the children’s sector on local, regional and national basis. This role includes providing support for a number of forums and networks to strengthen partnerships between organisations delivering services to children, young people and their families. For more details on these partnerships click here.

Sector Support covers a vast range of projects which facilitate partnership working and the priorities of the wider children’s workforce. Children’s Links have a successful team who work in partnership to broaden the horizon for families and children. Here are just some of the thriving projects in progress.

Choosing Health
Our project worker is currently delivering a Choosing Health Pilot project in Lincolnshire’s District of South Holland. Over the next three years we will be working in the Spalding area to enable families to access information, advice and activities to enable them to make healthy choices in their diets and lifestyles. The project has a focus on reaching families, children, young people, older generation and migrants to deliver bespoke Food for Thought courses. The project is also working to increase awareness of obesity and health issues and to investigate why the number of people eating fruit and vegetables is so low in an area of one of the biggest producers of vegetables in the country.
For further information on how we can deliver this in your area please contact the Workforce and Skills team at Children’s Links.

Community Matters Toolkit – Equality and Diversity in Recruitment
With funding from the Children’s Workforce Development Council (CWDC) and as a result of a series of events in the sector, Children’s Links has developed a Community Matter’s Toolkit specialising in Equality and Diversity in Recruitment.
The dynamic tool supports organisations in the Children’s Workforce, to use inclusive recruitment practices and develop diverse teams within their organisations, for the benefit of the children they work with, the wider communities and the long-term retention of the employees
The toolkit contains a wealth of information sources, sample documents and case studies to meet a variety of organisational needs and has a step by step approach that enables inclusive recruitment from the advertising stage right through to the new employee’s first day.  Click here to view the complete toolkit.
